Sara Piotrowska (1989) and Maciej Szczęśniak (1989) visual artists, alleged cousins, academics, live and works in Cracow and Warsaw. Graduates of Cultural Studies (BA, Jagiellonian University), Intermedia (BA, Cracow Art Academy) and New Media Arts (MA, Warsaw Art Academy). They mostly work site-specific, conducting long-term case studies. They use object, installation, performance, text, process – rarely concluding searches with single art pieces. The subsequent projects form multi elemental stories, monographies – ever evolving collections of findings or questions. They consider themselves scholars; naturally prone to partisan methodologies. They have been cooperating since 2015, after discovering the kinship of interests and blood. They have been running an artist-run-space Piotrowska/Szczęśniak atelier in Cracow since 2019.
